Argumentative Research Topic

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

It should not be unanticipated to come across women at the head of efforts to juggle around with the foremost culture’s judgment of the body. Starting from the Virgin Mary to Barbie, women have been offered with models for their personified life that merge asexuality through hyper sexuality in odd and incomprehensible ways. Furthermore, on the condition that societies have been writing this importance on their bodies, women have both made possible and set up ways to destabilize their consequence, occasionally in the matching act. This absurdity is sheds light on in the spaces where feminist presumption, feminist religious studies, as well as women’s music crisscross. Increasingly in this circumstance, the female body does exist not merely as a locus of repression, however as a kind of presentation spot, where educational opportunities with reference to gender are run through but also, in any case potentially, maneuvered and opposed. In this observation, the female body is not so a great deal as the purpose of male expenditure as a intricate social put up, a kind of survived philosophy where male power becomes visible through stable recurrence of acts of interest, belief, and susceptibility, nevertheless also where unusual acts can undermine that supremacy. What are vital to these studies of the female body are reflections of women’s sexual bureau. Women’s sexuality, evidently, has been a paramount spotlight of patriarchal concern with reference to women’s bodies seeing as the earliest times. The lessening of women to sexual objects of male yearning along with the expression of the subsistence, steer clear of the appearance, of female aspiration has been a stronghold of feminist evaluation for a lot of years now. The main thing is, women have to be familiar with that their freedom will come from themselves. This is more contentious, without doubt in terms of insinuations, however one approach to ponder this method is to consider of the implication of definite words, and the implications they bear, and the rationale why feminists for the past twenty years or so have hunted to issue terms like “Chairman”, “Mankind”, “History”, “hysterical” or “housewife”. Arguments about names and labels are, from this approach, not simply academic nit picking, but part of wider arguments about the significance of names and labels for defining and identifying, and also limiting and differentiating.Continuing the argument, when each of us “enters” language we become defined by that language and, furthermore, when each of us enters a “culture” we become defined and identified through that culture. (Bailey, 2003) Media texts, along with indeed all texts, presents people a similar way of seeing this practice of “message” in function. Her character, of course, is not a real person in any way: she is a personality in a film, who is fashioned farther than, and lives inside, the rules, metaphors as well as sign system of the motion picture itself, and its connection to other movies, other texts, and so forth.

Research Paper Rubric

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

A research paper rubric is a set of criteria that is used to evaluate a student’s writing performance. The purpose of having a research paper rubric is to allow standard evaluation so as to make grading simpler and more transparent. A research paper rubric, therefore, guides how the teacher or the professor should rate research papers of his or her students by segmenting the ratings according to a research paper rubric criteria or standards. On the part of the student, having a research paper rubric will aid him or her to understand how the paper was rated and therefore, allow for a self-evaluation. A research paper rubric tells the student his or her strengths and his weaknesses, so the student will know what are the writing qualities that he or she will improve. By having a research paper rubric standard to the whole class, the student may also realize that the grading system is fair, as the research paper rubric in itself explains the way grades were given. An example of a research paper rubric contains the following criteria: clearness, organization and development of ideas; sentence variation; word choice and figurative language; research paper requirements; grammar and usage; among others. Below each research paper rubric criterion, there should also be a checklist or sub-criteria that explain in detail the criterion above. For example, the research paper rubric on clearness, organization and development ideas tells the teacher that he or she should consider the following before he or she give the rating: clearness of the main idea of the paper; clearness of topic for each paragraph; relation of topic sentences to main idea; relation of supporting details to topic sentences; use of transitions so as to provide coherence to the flow of ideas; and logical sequencing of ideas.

Although there are other ways of composing a research paper rubric, what has been said above is just an example for grade level research paper writing. It can also be assumed that if the research paper is written for higher academic levels then the research paper rubric may also become more inclusive and more precise, that will allow its use for peer review.

COLLEGE TERM PAPER

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Why do I have to make a college term paper? What will it do to me? Will it help me get into a multinational company? What benefits would writing a college term paper give to me? – have you ever asked yourself these questions while writing the college term paper of yours? I have contemplated time and time again why I have to write about a certain topic or subject, or why I have to research on it. And then one day, while I was discussing my college term paper on the recently concluded Beijing Olympics and Michael Phelps, I was surprised when my older brother said ‘Hey! That’s one perfect topic and very interesting too!’ to which I replied ‘what is so interesting about it?’ It’s history! You are writing about one of the best factual information of your time and you are a witness. You can tell all your children and even your grandchildren about it and how it felt. I saw that you were in full awe of how the Chinese handled it – from their opening ceremonies to the closing ceremonies to how Phelps was received by the crown when he won a record-breaking 8 medals. You were there you witnessed it, you must be proud of it!” I did not reply to this remark of my older brother. I was out of words, because as he was explaining to me the essence of the college term paper I was writing, I realized that I have been in awe of so many things in my life which I haven’t written about. On occasions where I was given the chance to choose my topic, I would often resort to what was common, or if not I would work on something closest to what my other classmates were doing. It did not occur to me that the reason I cannot find any relevance with the college term papers I was writing before was that, I was not interested in any of the topics I have been assigned. And from here on, I hope I would be assigned a college term paper with a topic I love. A1Essays provides custom essay writing, high quality term papers & non- plagiarized research papers.
